make room for love

:: 0 Comments :: Article Rating :: love, relationships, excerpt, five good minutes®

Have you ever noticed how negative emotions such as anger and resentment can take up enormous space in your life? Well, move over hatred! Let’s make room for more love. Take these next few minutes for an expansive love meditation.

  1. Find a place to be still and relax.
  2. Ask yourself: "What is the capacity of my heart to love? Just how much love is really in there?"
  3. Close your eyes and imagine a swirling groundswell of loving emotions intensifying inside you. You are tapping into your ever-expanding pool of affection and kindness.
  4. Pay attention to what you're feeling right now in your body. Imagine this abundant love spilling out from your heart and rapidly spreading throughout your body. What physical sensations are you experiencing? Do you feel warm inside? Do you feel surrounded by good energy?
  5. Open your eyes and reassure yourself that you have a vast capacity to love. You truly are an unstoppable force of benevolence toward yourself and others.

Excerpt from Five Good Minutes® with the One You Love: 100 Mindful Practices to Deepen and Renew Your Love Everyday by Dr. Jeffrey Brantley, MD, and Wendy Millstine, NC
